KTUL, Sinclair Broadcast Group’s ABC affiliate in Tulsa, Okla., has appointed Chris Nunley chief meteorologist. He is delivering forecasts weekdays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
“I’m thrilled to join the NewsChannel 8 First Warning Storm Team. I couldn’t be happier to be back in the Sooner State. I attended grade school and high school in Oklahoma and studied Meteorology at the University of Oklahoma,” Nunley said.
Growing up in Southern Oklahoma, Nunley experienced all types of intense weather including tornadoes, ice storms, and intense droughts and flooding. His fascination with atmospheric processes led him to study meteorology at the University of Oklahoma during undergrad, followed by graduate school where he earned a Ph.D. in earth and atmospheric sciences from Mississippi State University.
Nunley joins KTUL from KING Seattle, where he was the weekend morning meteorologist.
