Alayna Treene has joined CNN as a reporter to cover investigations on Capitol Hill and presidential politics heading into the 2024 election season.
Recently, Treene was a senior congressional reporter at Axios, where she covered the Biden presidency, Congress and elections. She was also the co-author of the nightly political newsletter “Sneak Peek.”
Treene joined Axios as a breaking news reporter in 2016. She then served as an associate news editor, political reporter and White House reporter. She has been featured on various outlets, including CNN, MSNBC, CBS and Fox News.
She interned at CBS News, NBC News and Bloomberg.
Treene graduated from The George Washington University.
