ABC station WTVG-TV Ch. 13 in Toledo, Ohio has tapped David Kaplar to serve as a news director. Since September 2018, he held the same post at WOWT-TV Ch. 6, an NBC affiliate in Omaha, Neb.
Kaplar worked as an assistant news director at WEWS-TV Ch. 5, an ABC affiliate in Cleveland, and as a news director at CBS stations WTAJ-TV Ch. 10 in Altoona, Pa. and WGME-TV Ch. 13 Portland, Maine.
He served as managing editor of CBS station WBZ-TV Ch. 4 in Boston and an executive producer at KUSA-TV Ch. 9 an NBC affiliate in Denver.
Kaplar graduated from the University of Akron.
