Kate Mansey will join The Times as an assistant editor to lead its royal coverage. She will begin in January.
Mansey’s post on X/Twitter reads:
“It means I won’t get to expand my mini empire as a freelance writer just yet but this opportunity was too good to turn down. New year, new start.”
Mansey held the posts of deputy features editor and assistant editor at The Mail on Sunday. She also worked as a senior news reporter and royal reporter at the Sunday Times.
She also worked at Trinity Mirror plc for more than six years.
Mansey graduated from the University of Leeds.
