The Times has hired Jane Hamilton as a recruitment editor. She will also have a regular weekly column in print and online.
Hamilton joins from News UK, where she was a senior journalist covering careers, employment and consumer and commercial partnerships, focused on social mobility, helping disadvantaged job seekers and ensuring equal opportunities through education.
She worked at The Sun for more than 11 years as a “Sun Savers” editor, consumer writer and, jobs and careers editor. Previously, from December 1999 to January 2000, she worked at The Sun as a web journalist.
She also held the posts of deputy women’s editor, feature writer and assistant news editor at News International.
Hamilton graduated from the University of Cambridge.
