Mike Smallcombe, a digital sub-editor at The Telegraph, has been appointed assistant news editor.
Prior to joining the Telegraph, Smallcombe held the posts of digital news journalist and content editor at Reach plc.
He was a print news reporter at Local World Media, which was acquired by Reach title Trinity Mirror in late 2015.
Smallcombe has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Exeter.
