The Scotsman in the UK has promoted Conor Matchett to the post of deputy political editor. Previously, he was serving as a political reporter.
Before that, he has worked as a digital journalist for iNews, The Scotsman, Yorkshire Post, and other JPI Media titles.
He also served as a multimedia reporter for Edinburgh Evening News at JPI Media, where he was runner-up for Best Young Journalist of the Year and nominated for Scoop of the Year at the Scottish Press Awards 2020.
He has also reported for Archant and was a trainee at Press Association. Additionally, he has worked or Guardian News & Media, Sky and the BBC.
Matchett graduated from the University of Edinburgh.
