The New York Times hit 10 million subscribers during the last quarter. The company added 210,000 net digital-only subscribers and made a profit of $53.6 million.
President and CEO Meredith Kopit Levien said:
“We expect at least half of our subscribers over the next few years to be on the bundle. That matters because bundle subscribers engage more, stay longer and monetize better than subscribers to any individual product.”
The company also grew its total revenue 9.3 percent year over year.
The Athletic also paid off as it grew its total revenue 45.8 percent year-over-year to $34.4 million.
