Jim LaPorta has joined The Messenger as a national security reporter to cover national security and military affairs. He will begin on May 15 when the news startup launches.
Recently, LaPorta was a contributing writer at Rolling Stone.
Previously, he covered the intersection between national security, the U.S. intelligence community and the U.S. military as part of the international investigations team at The Associated Press.
As a senior correspondent at Newsweek, he covered national security and military affairs. He was also an investigative reporter at “Frontline” PBS and a defense reporter at United Press International.
He was a military correspondent at The Daily Beast and a contributor to The Washington Post.
LaPorta attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
