The Messenger hires Gotthelf as senior editor

News startup The Messenger has hired Michelle Gotthelf in a senior editorial role.

Gotthelf is a veteran New York Post journalist, having worked there for more than 21 years an most recently serving as digital editor in chief.

She has also held the posts of news features reporter, associate metropolitan editor, deputy metropolitan editor, metropolitan editor and managing editor of news.

Previously, she was a crime and courts reporter at the North Jersey Media Group and a copy editor at Newsday.
