The Messenger hires Dent as reporter

Alec Dent

Alec Dent has joined The Messenger as a reporter. Recently, he served as a staff writer at The Dispatch.

Dent joined The Dispatch in March 2020 as a fact checker. He then served as a lead fact checker and then as fact check editor. He then became a culture editor.

Dent graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he worked at the student paper, The Daily Tar Heel.
