The Independent promotes Ostlere to deputy sports editor

Lawrence Ostlere, an assistant sports editor at The Independent, has been appointed deputy sports editor and sports writer.

Ostlere joined The Independent in November 2017 as a sports night editor. Later, he was named sports feature editor.

Previously, he was a digital sub-editor and writer at The Guardian.

Ostlere has a B.A. from the University of Leeds.
