The Independent hires Cockroft as editor

Stephanie Cockroft

Stephanie Cockroft has joined The Independent as an Indy100 editor.

She comes from The Evening Standard where she has worked for more than 3 years, joining as a night news editor. She then became an associate news editor and then served as an online news editor before holding the post of news editor.

She has also worked as a news reporter and as a senior news reporter/night news editor at MailOnline. She was also an exclusive features writer at the Press Association and served as chief reporter, Aldershot News and Mail – Trinity Mirror Southern.

Earlier she was a trainee reporter and then worked as a senior reporter at North Devon Journal – Northcliffe Media.

Cockroft is a graduate of Cardiff University.
