Nonprofit investigative news outlet The City has named Scott Klein its chief product officer. Recently, Klein was deputy managing editor at ProPublica, where he worked for more than 14 years.
There, he also served as senior editor for news applications and assistant managing editor. He co-founded DocumentCloud in 2009 with colleagues from ProPublica and from the New York Times, and served as its president until merging it with IRE in 2011.
He was VP, web publisher at The Nation.
Klein has a B.A. from Clark University in Worcester, Mass.
