The Athletic promotes Hay to deputy news editor

Anthony Hay

Anthony Hay is now a deputy news editor at The Athletic. In his new role, he will help the team with breaking news coverage and assist with live coverage of football games. He previously was a staff editor.

He worked at MailOnline for over 5 years, serving as a freelancer, sports reporter, news editor, night editor and assistant sports editor. He was also a sports reporter at Sports New Media in London.

In addition, he worked for Guardian News & Media, Press Association and Daily Mirror.

Hay has a B.A. from the University of Brighton.
