Jason Stallman will join The Athletic on Dec. 4 as editor-at-large. As per the Times:
“Jason will help oversee the overall quality and integrity of our journalism across the newsroom, while spearheading projects and lines of coverage that impact multiple sports. He will also launch initiatives aimed at the biggest moments on the sports calendar.
“Any of us who have met Jason over the course of our careers know that he’s a force in sports news, and he’s proven himself to be a multifaceted leader who knows how to drive breaking news coverage while also shepherding award-winning enterprise journalism.”
Stallman has been with The New York Times for 20 years. Recently, he oversaw the Times’ revelatory documentary work.
Previously, he was an editor at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Arizona Daily Star.
