The 19th has hired Flora Peir as its news editor.
She will start on May 10.
Peir is an 18-year veteran of The New York Times and graduate of the Asian American Journalist Association’s executive leadership program. She has been a line editor and headline writer for local, national and international news; an assignment editor for late-breaking news; and for the last four years, helped decide what makes the Times’ national print section.
She is an Arlington, Texas, native and graduate of Baylor University.
