Kavitha Surana will join ProPublica as a reporter on National, effective Aug. 1.
Previously, Surana was a staff reporter at BuzzFeed News and an enterprise reporter at the Tampa Bay Times. She served as a senior reporting fellow at ProPublica from January 2018 to April 2019.
She was an editorial fellow at Foreign Policy Magazine and interned at CNN and The Associated Press.
Surana has a B.A. from Columbia University, New York and a master’s degree from New York University.
