Streetsblog has hired Jesse Coburn and Fiifi Frimpong as reporters, reports Politico.
Coburn joins from Newsday where he recently held the post of transportation and education reporter. Coburn has been with Newsday for more than 4 years and has also served as a local government reporter.
He has also worked as a metro desk stringer at The New York Times and worked as a freelancer for 4 years. He has also interned at The Baltimore Sun, The New York Times and Time Out New York. He was also an assistant editor at ARCH+.
Coburn is a M.A. in journalism and European studies from New York University.
Frimpong is currently a multimedia journalist at Avant-Youth. Before that, he was a researcher at National Geographic. He has also worked as a sports editor at Pandora’s Box, CUNY York College student newspaper.
He was also a reporting intern at Co-op City Times.
Frimpong holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from CUNY York College and a master’s degree in journalism from Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY.
