Axios has hired Kyle Stokes as a reporter for its Twin Cities newsletter. Since January 2023, he had been at the MinnPost, where he covered local government.
Before that, Stokes covered education as a senior reporter for KPCC-FM 89.3 in Pasadena, Calif.
He also worked as a journalism lecturer at California State University, Northridge, and as a youth and education reporter at KNKX-FM 88.5, Tacoma’s PBS member station.
Stokes covered education in Indiana as part of a collaboration between NPR in Washington and WFIU Public Radio in Bloomington.
He was also a reporter and anchor at KOMU-TV Ch. 8, an NBC and CW Plus affiliate in Columbia, Mo., and interned at Thomson Reuters and KTTC-TV Ch. 10, an NBC and CW Plus station in Rochester.
Stokes graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
