Kay Steiger has joined Politico as a politics editor. In her new role, she will work with national politics editor Scott Bland and deputy managing editor Sam Stein.
Steiger came from Grid, where she recently served as managing editor, and before that as politics and ideas editor. Previously, she worked as a deputy politics editor and Washington editor at Vox.com.
She has also served as senior editor at Think Progress; an associate editor at Talking Points Memo; an online managing editor at Washingtonian Magazine and as an editorial assistant at The American Prospect.
Steiger has a B.A. in journalism from the University of Minnesota.
