Current “Today in St. Louis” multi-skilled journalist Mercedes Mackay has been promoted to weekend morning co-anchor.

Mackay came to 5 On Your Side in June 2022 from KSDK sister-station KTHV in Little Rock, Arkansas. She will join co-anchor Travis Cummings for “Today in St. Louis” at 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. each Saturday and Sunday. She will begin her new role in the coming weeks.

“I am elated to wake up on the weekends with our bi-state viewers! Being a part of ‘Today in St. Louis’ with Rene and Michelle during the week has been such a fun and incredible experience,” said Mackay. “I can’t wait to continue that fun and success with Travis on the weekends. Most importantly, I am grateful for this opportunity and feel humbled to step into this role. KSDK is a legacy news brand and I am incredibly honored to represent this iconic St. Louis brand from the weekend anchor desk.”

Mackay attended University of Missouri’s School of Journalism and earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism with a minor in business.
