5 On Your Side, an NBC-affiliate in St. Louis, has hired award-winning political journalist Mark Maxwell as a political editor.
He joins from WCIA, a CBS-affiliated TV station in Illinois, where he recently served as its Capitol bureau chief. As an investigative reporter at WCIA, he was honored with an Emmy Award for an investigative piece.
There, he has also been hosting and moderating a state-wide political talk show, Capitol Connection.
“Covering Illinois politics has been a wild ride,” Maxwell said. “When I heard about the chance to cover politics on both sides of the Mississippi, especially for a station with the caliber of KSDK, I just couldn’t turn it down. I’m very eager to get started, and excited to get to know Missouri.”
Maxwell graduated from Hyles-Anderson College.
