Spotify taps Paramount’s Chi as global head of podcast business affairs

Jean Chi is joining Spotify as its global head of podcast business affairs overseeing the deal making process across Spotify Studios, Gimlet, Parcast and The Ringer. She will also be supervising Spotify’s worldwide business affairs team, reporting to VP business affairs David Kaefer.

The hire comes as the tech company continues to expand its global audio offerings.

Chi joins Spotify from Paramount Pictures where she held the post of executive vice president of business affairs. She has also served as head of content planning and business affairs at A24. She was also executive vice president/co-head of business and legal affairs, acquisitions and co-productions at Lionsgate.

Chi was also senior vice president, legal affairs at Summit Entertainment. She was also an associate at Loeb & Loeb LLP and has also worked in the business and legal affairs department at Disney ABC Television Group.

Chi is a graduate of NYU School of Law.
