Spectrum hires Shipp as part of expanding coverage

Brett Shipp

Brett Shipp has joined Spectrum as it expands its hyperlocal TV news coverage to North Texas.

He is the owner and principal of Brett Shipp Media, LLC, which investigates, advocates and communicates media strategy and crisis communication.

He was also an investigative reporter at WFAA and KDFW-TV Fox 4 Dallas-Fort Worth.

At WFAA, Shipp won 3 Peabody’Awards, 2 duPont Silver Batons, 1 duPont Gold Baton, 4 IRE National Awards, 1 National Murrow and multiple Regional Emmy Awards. He was also a two-time Harvard Goldsmith Prize finalist.

Shipp graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University.
