The Washington Post has hired Joe Snell as an embedded video editor on the foreign desk. Snell begins on Jan. 3.
Previously, he worked at Al-Monitor as an editorial team member and video editor. He founded the Assyrian Journal, which covers the global Assyrian community through events, profiles and features.
He was a reporter at Medill News Service of Northwestern University and interned at NBCUniversal.
Snell has a B.A. from the University of Southern California and an M.S. from Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism, where he was a Harrington Award winner. He is also a member of the Arab and Middle Eastern Journalists Association.
