Marie-Danielle Smith has taken on the role of news editor at the Canadian Press. Since March 2023, she has been serving as acting news editor. She joined in June 2022 as a reporter/editor.
Previously, Smith worked as an assistant editor and then associate editor at Maclean’s. She was also a political reporter at PostMedia Network and a reporter at the Ottawa Citizen.
Smith graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa.
