Silverman departs Philly Inquirer for The Washington Post

Ellie Silverman is joining The Washington Post to cover protests and general assignments in Metro.

She starts next month.

Silverman joins from The Philadelphia Inquirer where she was a breaking news and general assignment reporter. Before that, she held the post of retail reporter.

Silverman was previously with The Post from 2017 to 2018 as a metro reporting intern. She was also a special projects editor at The Diamondback.

Silverman has also interned at The Hill, The Seattle Times, Capital-Gazette newspapers and McClatchy Newspapers.

Silverman is a B.A. in journalism from University of Maryland College Park.
