We’re thrilled to announce a new role on the foreign desk for Mary Beth Sheridan.

Mary Beth will become Mexico City bureau chief this spring. With her deep experience as a foreign correspondent and editor, including multiple tours in Mexico, Mary Beth has delivered prize-winning coverage of the country and its fragile security picture since she returned there as a correspondent in 2018.

Mary Beth is a winner of Columbia University’s Maria Moors Cabot Prize for distinguished reporting on Latin America, recognizing a career that has also included assignments in Bogotá, Colombia, for the Miami Herald and Mexico City for the Los Angeles Times. Since joining The Post in 2001, she has covered diplomacy, homeland security and immigration; from 2014 to 2018, she served as The Post’s deputy foreign editor, playing a key role in running day-to-day coverage of the world. She is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard and a Knight-Bagehot Fellow at Columbia and speaks Spanish fluently.
