Scripps News appoints Nguyen anchor

Chris Nguyen

Chris Nguyen has joined Scripps News as an anchor. Commenting on his new role, he said:

“I’m humbled by the opportunity to continue my career with such a bold and forward-thinking news organization. It’s a privilege to serve as a journalist, and I’m committed to earning the trust of our viewers as I embark on this new journey.”

Recently, Nguyen was a national correspondent at CNN, where he delivered breaking news and political reports for the network’s domestic and international affiliates, and covered major stories and severe weather events.

He also worked as a news anchor and reporter at San Francisco’s ABC outlet KGO-TV Ch. 7. At Tegna,he served as a news anchor and reporter for both CBS station KREM-TV Ch. 2 in Spokane, Wash., and KXTV-TV Ch. 10, an ABC affiliate in Sacramento.

He also held the same posts at WAND-TV Ch. 17, an NBC affiliate in Decatur, Ill.

Nguyen has a B.A. from the University of Washington.
