Lauren J. Young will join Scientific American as an associate health editor. She comes from Popular Science, where she was an associate science editor.
Young was a digital producer at NPR’s Science Friday, where she also interned. She was an editorial fellow at media and entertainment company Atlas Obscura.
She interned at IEEE Spectrum, a magazine edited by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
Young has a B.S. from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and a M.A. from New York University.
