The Washington Post has hired Brianna Sacks as an extreme weather and natural disasters reporter. As per the Post:
“In this role, Brianna will explore how climate change is transforming the United States through violent storms, intense heat, widespread wildfires and other forms of extreme weather. She will deploy to disaster zones and do enterprise reporting on the preparations for, responses to and aftermaths of such weather events.”
Sacks, who begins Nov. 7, joins from The Daily Beast, where she served as a senior reporter. Before that, she curated content for BuzzFeed News, and worked as a breaking news reporter as well as a rapid investigative and enterprise reporter.
She was a mobile editor at Yahoo News and a business fellow at the Los Angeles Times.
Sacks has a bachelor’s degree in American studies from George Washington University and a master’s degree from the University of Southern California.
