Rutledge joins new nonprofit as investigations editor

Raquel Rutledge

The Examination has hired Pulitzer Prize winner Raquel Rutledge as an investigations editor. Since February 2004, she has worked at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as an investigative reporter.

Rutledge won her Pulitzer Prize in 2010 for an expose on rampant fraud within Wisconsin’s child care subsidy program. She also received a Nieman Fellowship from Harvard University in 2011.

The Examination is a new nonprofit newsroom telling vital public health stories about tobacco, food, pollution and more, as per its Twitter profile.

Rutledge graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
