Monica Richardson, executive editor of The Miami Herald and el Nuevo Herald, has been appointed VP of news for large markets at parent company McClatchy. In her new role, she will oversee newsrooms in Florida, Missouri, California, North Carolina and Texas.
Previously, Richardson was a senior managing editor at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. She also served as a senior editor, beats team leader and digital managing editor.
She held various posts at the Lexington Herald-Leader including assistant metro editor.
