Ray moves to NY Times National desk as a night editor

The New York Times has tapped Esha Ray to serve as a night editor on the National desk. Recently, Ray worked on the Flex desk.

Ray joined the Times in 2021 as a floating editor on the Flex desk, where she edited stories for style and grammar and worked on the cornavirus briefing. Prior to the Times, she was at the New York Daily News, where she reported and edited on the Metro desk.

She contributed to amNewYork and reported for WCBS-TV Ch. 2, the CBS flagship station in New York, and News 12.

Ray has a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and economics from New York University.
