Susan Gill Vardon has joined the Ramona Sentinel as its new editor and general manager.

Vardon says:

“I’m really looking forward to moving into my office in Ramona and getting out in the community to meet you all. That might not happen right away because of the coronavirus. The office is closed and I’m working at home, as I’m sure many of you are.

“But that won’t keep us from reaching out or putting out an engaging, informative paper each week.”

Vardon began her career as a reporter/assistant city editor and book editor at Pasadena Star News in 1990. She left in 1996 to join Fort Worth Star-Telegram as a reporter. Then, in 2000 she joined Orange County Register where she worked for more than 17 years.

There, she worked as a reporter for 6 years and held the post of team leader, editor for 12 years.

She left the Register in 2018 to join LA Weekly as managing editor. In 2019, she re-joined Orange County Register as a staff writer. This year’s June saw her being promoted to the post of editor.

Vardon has a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Cal State Fullerton.
