Award-winning journalist Chris Fusco has been appointed executive editor of The Press Democrat. He said:
“To me, there’s really no other executive editor job like this in America. When you look at the size and the amount of investment in the room, for the market size, it’s almost unprecedented. Especially in today’s environment.”
Fusco has served as interim editor-in-chief and managing editor at the Houston Chronicle. He also served as executive editor of Lookout Local in Santa Cruz, Calif., where he helped build its first news website LookoutSantaCruz.com.
During 20 years at the Chicago Sun-Times, Fusco held the posts of reporter, managing editor, editor-in-chief and executive editor. He also reported for the Daily Herald and Shaw Media.
