Post-Dispatch reporter Hahn departs for new opportunity

Valerie Schremp Hahn, a reporter at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch wrote on Twitter:

“Some personal news: after more than 26 years  @stltoday, I am leaving – more on the next writing job soon. I won’t draw this out, but I appreciate everyone reading and letting me tell their stories. Thank you. (And hopefully you will still see my freelance byline in the paper.)”

During her more than two decades with the paper, Hahn has covered breaking news, education, business, crime and legal issues. Her main beats have been crime, courthouse news and education.

She also served as a features reporter and wrote about local cultural institutions, local history and entertainment.

Hahn graduated from Fontbonne University in Missouri.
