Portland, Ore. ABC station KATU-TV Ch. 2 has hired Tyree Smith as a sports anchor. His new role will begin on Nov. 20.
Recently, Smith held the same post at NBC outlet WPTV-TV Ch. 5 in West Palm Beach. He also held the posts of sports anchor, reporter and sports director at WBUP-TV Ch. 10, an ABC affiliate in Ishpeming, Mich.
He was a promotions assistant at iHeartMedia and interned at Fox Sports.
Smith graduated from Beloit College in Wisconsin.
