The Port Townsend-Jefferson County Leader has expanded its newsroom by hiring Nick Twietmeyer as a reporter.
During his career as a journalist, Twietmeyer has covered breaking news, court cases, education, health, environmental issues, business and various other topics with his work appearing in the Bainbridge Island Review, Seattle Weekly and numerous other local newspapers throughout western Washington.
“I’m very pleased to join the staff here at The Leader,” Twietmeyer said. “My family has history here in town, my grandfather was born here and my great-grandfather operated a business here in the early part of the 20th Century. I’m eager to have the opportunity to share the unique stories of the folks who call this special place home.”
Previously, Twietmeyer was with Sound Publishing where he worked for more than 3 years, joining as a reporter and then holding the post of editor. He also interned at Seattle Weekly and was a camera and jib operator at Three Sixty Productions, Inc.
Additionally, he has also held the post of assistant programs manager at Olympic Outdoor Center.
Twietmeyer holds a Bachelor’s degree in communication – journalism from the University of Washington.
