Politico names Wilkes K-12 national education reporter

Mackenzie Wilkes

Mackenzie Wilkes has joined Politico’s staff full time as a K-12 national education reporter. Recently, she was a fellow at Politico.

Previously, Wilkes interned at FiveThirtyEight, where she wrote and reported stories based on polling and original data collection, focused on redistricting and candidate endorsements. She also interned at News21.

Wilkes has a B.A. in journalism from Elon University in North Carolina, where she also worked at the student paper, The Pendulum.
