Washington Post veteran journalist Mike DeBonis will join Politico as editor of Playbook. DeBonis joined the Post in 2010 as a local politics reporter and recently served as a congressional and national politics reporter.
He also wrote a daily tipsheet, blog and weekly analysis column for the Post. Prior to that, he worked as a senior editor and staff writer at the Washington City Paper, where he also wrote Loose Lips, a political column on D.C. politics.
After joining the Post, DeBonis continued his newsletter and wrote a weekly analysis column on local politics in the Washington region until 2012.
DeBonis graduated from Georgetown University.
