Politico founding editor Harris takes on new role

John Harris

John Harris, founding editor of Politico, will be take on the role of editorial chair.

Harris began his career in 1985 as an intern at The Washington Post. He spent the next 21 years at the Post, covering various beats, including Virginia politics. He also served as the Post’s national politics editor.

He is the author of “The Survivor: Bill Clinton in the White House,” a history of the 42nd president that became a New York Times bestseller and a Times notable book of the year. He was listed in the Telegraph’s list of most influential Washington journalists and GQ’s list of the most influential people in Washington.

He is also a frequent guest on PBS and MSNBC.

Harris has a B.A. from Carleton College.
