Political journalist Jones launches new political publication OUAH

Michael Jones, an independent congressional reporter, has launched “Once Upon a Hill,” a twice-weekly publication about Congress, campaigns, politics and more.

The in-depth publication will feature Jones’ exclusive reporting as he looks into the people and policies shaping the legislative agenda. He will also analyze current happenings on Capitol Hill, and what to expect.

“Once Upon a Hill” will feature a free Monday morning edition and an additional premium edition which will go out Thursday evening. The Thursday evening premium edition will be part of a paid subscription allowing subscribers access to pop-up chats, Q&As and the full archive of newsletters.

Jones said:

“Less than a year out from an election that will define the next few decades and weeks away from another set of funding cliffs for Congress to navigate, I’m thrilled to be able to pour my heart, soul, perspective and experience into a newsletter created for such a time as this. Because so many people, from folks who work in official Washington to worn-out millennials trying to make ends meet to Gen Zers fed up with the status quo, long for authoritative news and analysis reported and written with humanity, fidelity to the truth over power, and narrative instincts.

“I understand that desire: It’s one of the reasons I founded Supercreator News four years ago and built it into the premier politics newsletter for the creative class, filling a void for an overlooked, underserved, but deeply influential community. And it’s one of the reasons I’m all-in on establishing Once Upon a Hill as appointment reading from the outset. Political media is at a crossroads. Journalists can repeat the history of the 2016 campaign and triple down on the horse race coverage that amounts to little more than a digital sugar rush for an already malnourished electorate. Or we can rise to the occasion with substantive coverage of this fragile moment in American democracy and offer readers an elevated alternative to the digital junk food they’re too often served.”

“Once Upon a Hill is a resounding proclamation that I’ll choose the latter.”
