Media Moves

Plutnicki, Todd join NY Times Print Hub as senior staff editors

The New York Times has made two moves to bolster its Print Hub, both in conjunction with the recent shakeup of the Times’ Sports desk as coverage moved to its property The Athletic.

Ken Plutnicki

Ken Plutnicki is now a senior staff editor at The New York Times Print Hub. He joined the Times in 1996 and joins the Print Hub from Sports.

The Times reports:

“Ken said if he had an origin story, it might be set in 1971, when he attended his first Yankees game as the winner of a V.I.P. trip to the stadium. He had won the grand prize at a fan festival held in a parking lot in Jersey City. A local newspaper wrote about it, misspelling young Ken’s surname throughout, a formative moment inside a formative moment.”

Plutnicki wrote sports and news features for The Miami Herald, and held editorial roles at The Troy Record in New York and The Bergen Record in New Jersey.

During his tenure at the Times, he has worked in the technology section, Dining, Home, Styles and Society.
