Philadelphia NBC station taps Shropshire to serve as anchor

Philadelphia NBC station WCAU-TV Ch. 10 has hired Fred Shropshire as an anchor. Recently, he served as a Charlotte weekday evening anchor 5, 6 and 11 p.m. at WCNC-TV Ch. 36, an NBC affiliate in Charlotte, N.C.

An Emmy and Edward R. Murrow Award-winning journalist, Shropshire has also worked at Disney ABC Television Group and Tribune Broadcasting. He also served as bureau chief and general assignment news reporter at WCTI-TV Ch. 12, an ABC affiliate in New Bern, N.C.

Shropshire graduated from UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media.
