People Magazine taps Martinez to serve as TV writer/reporter

Kelly Martinez

Kelly Martinez has joined People Magazine as a TV writer and reporter. In her new role, she will pitch, write and report three to five digital stories daily, including breaking news. She will also write features and conduct interviews.

Recently, Martinez had freelanced for various outlets, including The Daily Beast and Wired.

Before that, she was at BuzzFeed News, where she worked for more than three years and held roles including editorial fellow, resident writer, junior staff writer and staff writer.

Martinez has a B.S. from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, where she was a copy editor at the student newspaper, Mustang News.
