Gannet-owned Pennsylvania-based newspaper The Hanover Evening Sun has hired Harrison Jones as a reporter.
Read on below an excerpt of him as he introduces himself to the community:
“Howdy!
“I wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself to the Hanover community, though, if you’ve been a reader of The Evening Sun at any point in the last eight years, you’ve probably seen my name before as a freelance journalist and photographer for the paper.
“It’s a bit of a full circle moment for me, really. I started freelancing with The Evening Sun in 2015 at the age of just 18 as a photojournalist.
“While I was in college for photojournalism at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., my passion for covering Hanover news kept me coming back almost every weekend to cover football, breaking news and other stories for the paper.
“After graduation and a few years spent in higher education marketing down in D.C., I jumped at the opportunity to return to Hanover to focus on bringing local news back to the community that raised me.
“I’m excited to get started, so stay tuned for more Hanover news!”
