Nick Parker is joining The Washington Post general assignment news desk as weekend editor.
In his new role, he will help direct GA reporters on breaking news and produce timely stories that resonate with readers. He will also help bridge the gap between the normal weekend daytime operations and the handoff to the Seoul and London news hubs.
His starts on May 24.
Parker joins from The Washington Post News Service with Bloomberg News, where his duties have included rewriting GA’s live-update files into daily stories that move on the wire.
Prior to that, he was an editor at Factal. He was also with The Salt Lake Tribune for more than four years, joining as a sports copy editor and then serving as night editor and copy desk chief. He was also a copy editor at Deseret News.
Parker is a graduate of Westminster College.
