Freddy Oldenburg is moving back to Texas. He has been named VP of News for KTMD Telemundo Houston.
He’ll be leaving his current post as VP of News at WNJU Telemundo New York, where he has worked since April 2020.
His last day at WNJU is February 3.
Oldenburg will lead the day-to-day news operations of Telemundo Houston starting February 13.
The position had been vacant since Jerry Vazquez’s death in October 2022.
Oldenburg was previously VP of News at Telemundo 39 KXTX-TV Dallas-Fort Worth and also at Telemundo 48 KSTS-TV in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Before that, he was assistant news director at KVEA Telemundo 52 in Los Angeles and executive producer for Univision network in Miami.
Oldenburg began his career in broadcasting as an anchor and reporter for RCTV in his native Venezuela.
